KAOHSIUNG, TAIWAN - Alexander Marine, the manufacturer of Ocean Alexander yachts, has built a Unrestricted Maritime and Coastguard Agencies (MCA) Compliant, Bureau Veritas (BV) Certified 74' Flybridge Motoryacht. This is the first production boat in its class to receive this esteemed certification in the world.
The Bureau Veritas Groups' website states, "BV assesses ships for conformity with specific sets of rules, mainly determining structural soundness and reliability of machinery on-board. Through these activities, we contribute to global maritime safety and help protect the marine environment." Typically, a majority of pleasure yachts that obtain BV certification are mega yachts ranging from 110" and larger. This 74' Ocean Alexander is the first production boat of this size to pass the high standards and requirements to obtain this certification.
"We are extremely proud of the entire production team and the design and engineering efforts that made this boat possible," said John Chueh, president of Alexander Marine. "This goes to prove, when we say that we have an obsession with engineering - it's exactly what we mean."
With factories in Taiwan and China, Ocean Alexander's combined yacht-building facilities make it among the largest in Asia. Ocean Alexander is based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Its yachts are available through U.S. dealers in Seattle, WA; Stuart and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Newport, RI; Alameda and Newport Beach, CA; Annapolis, MD; Kemah, TX; and Sturgeon Bay, WI.
